Following the Austrian engineer Otto von Moritz?s city planning, Alexandria is a town with long, straight and perpendicular streets, these streets front the main axis, parallel to Vedea river. The road network has a total length of 67 km, the modern one having a length of 60 km and the others ? 7 km.
The parking situation needs to be addressed, as there are not enough parking spaces for the growing number of cars. Transportation in Alexandria is provided by S.C. Transloc Prest S.A., subordinated to City Council, and also through a network of privately owned maxi-taxis and cabs.
